Otterbein Nature Series

Monday, Aug. 27, 1-2 pm

Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist Carol Soehner will share "The Japanese Art of Forest Bathing" with us as this month's presentation. The benefits of connecting with nature are undisputed. Scientists call it the Biophilia Effect. In Japan it's called Shinrin-yuko and "medicine of the forest" is a recognized treatment. Here in the US, we call it Forest Bathing. No matter what you call it, spending time outdoors in nature has been scientifically proven to improve mental and physical well-being. Forest bathing has a calming effect on the mind and offers health benefits such as regulating the nervous system, strengthening the immune system, lowering blood pressure, curing depression, contributing to better sleep and more! Join us and learn about why it's effective, as well as enjoyable.

This program is free and open to the public, thanks to the generosity of Otterbein and The Friends of the Warren Co Park District.
